Training and Professional Development

In the area of Training and Professional Development, the TEACH group encompasses a diverse array of projects designed to enhance the pedagogical skills and technological fluency of educators in engineering and related fields.

The Teaching in Higher Education program, launched in 2016/17, provided comprehensive pedagogical training for researchers at Politecnico di Torino. Coordinated by Professor Felisatti from the University of Padova, this initiative successfully engaged 120 researchers, covering student-centered learning, teaching methodologies, and assessment. Due to its success, it has been integrated into the TEACH-POT (Provide Opportunity in Teaching) framework, offering a range of methodological training and teaching technologies for lecturers.

The TEACH-GYM (Grow Your Methodology) project, initially part of the "TTPU-GYM" initiative at the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, focuses on innovative teaching methodologies to meet job-oriented educational needs. The project has evolved to include both the Uzbek and Italian campuses, with ongoing analysis of its impacts on teaching practices.

The Open Educational Practices (OEP) studies investigate the adoption of open education practices at Politecnico di Torino. In collaboration with UNIMIR, this research uses surveys and interviews to explore educators' proficiency in open design, content, pedagogy, and assessment, enhancing the educational experience through digital technologies.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, various initiatives supported the transition to online teaching, as detailed in Radical Solutions for Education in a Crisis Context book. These efforts included providing remote lectures and exams at TTPU, showcasing effective strategies for maintaining educational continuity during crises.

Building on this extensive experience, we are currently developing the Teach2Teach training program for Engineering educators. It is structured on workshops to enhance pedagogical techniques and technology integration, empowering educators to deliver effective and engaging learning experiences in technical fields.
